Greetings

Activity 1

Victoriano, Aitana and Dani are all friends. In this video they introduce themselves to us.

They introduce themselves by saying:

Aitana: ¿Cómo te llamas?

Victoriano: Me llamo Victoriano. ¿Y tú?

Aitana: Me llamo Aitana.

Dani: Me llamo Dani.

In English, this means:

Aitana: What is your name?

Victoriano: My name is Victoriano, what about you?

Aitana: My name is Aitana.

Dani: My name is Dani.

Now it’s your go! Practise saying ‘Me llamo (your name)’. Then you can act out a whole conversation with someone else, just like the one above.

There’s also an activity sheet which you can complete if you print it out and follow the instructions on there. If you don’t have a printer, just copy the sheet onto some paper.

Activity 2

Watch the video where bestfriends Julia and Maggie are taking part in a game show.

Ana Belén asks Julia how she is, and Maggie joins in with the answer! Here’s their conversation:

Ana Belén: Hola Julia.

Julia: Hola.

Ana Belén: ¿Qué tal?

Julia and Maggie: Muy bien.

In English this means:

Ana Belén: Hello Julia.

Julia: Hello.

Ana Belén: How are you?

Julia and Maggie: Very well.

Now it’s your turn! Copy this conversation and practise it with someone else.

You can also use ‘no muy bien’ which means 'not very well' if you’re feeling confident, and then you can use what you learnt in Activity 1 to introduce yourself first.

Practise having a full conversation with someone else, and then you can print out the activity sheet and follow the instructions on there. (If you don’t have a printer just copy out the sheet onto some paper.) The activity sheet also has a bit about age - if you’ve learnt that already then you can write about that too but if not, just stick to what you’ve learnt in this activity!
