
Unit 5 - La clase
About the unit
This unit reviews colours, family and numbers 1-20, the verb have, and further language covered in previous units. It also focuses on key classroom vocabulary and we see some of the Spanish children at school. Other new vocabulary introduced in this unit includes: parts of the body, and tu (your).
Expectations
At the end of this unit, most children will:
- introduce themselves in two different ways
- recognise and say the terms for the main family members
- recognise and say numbers 1-20
- recognise and say some names for parts of the body
- recognise and use the adjective Tu
- recognise and say some classroom items
- ask somebody about what they have
- copy words with confidence
- recognise similarities between English and Spanish words
Some children will not have made so much progress and will:
- recognise and understand the terms for the main family members
- repeat after Speekee
- know the names of all the characters in Speekee
- recognise and say most numbers between 1-20
- recognise some names for parts of the body
- recognise some classroom items
Some children will have progressed further and will:
- recognise and say 8 classroom items
- recognise and say 6 names for parts different of the body
